| We have our own
butchery selling all cuts of fresh beef, lamb, pork and goat. As well as
Poultry & Game.
We are very nearly self sufficient in producing nearly all of the pork
that we sell. The pigs are born and reared here at Allington on our home
grown cereals, they are a mixture of breeds, large white, saddleback,
Tamworth & Gloucester Old Spot. We make a large range of sausages using
fresh ingredients and our home grown pork.
The lamb is 100%
locally produced either from our farm or nearby farm in North Wraxall,
the lambs are naturally fattened outside on grass.
All of the Beef reared
here at Allington is sold through the shop, we also buy local beef from
the south west region. Our beef is hung for 21 days to give it the best
flavour.
Our bacon and gammon is
from Cheshire and has been dry cured.
All of the Goats are
Allington reared, our poultry is from the Cotswolds and we also sell
local game when it is in season.
We sell smoked fish
from Inverawe, smoked trout and terrines from Mere Fish Farm and Fish
Cakes from the Flying Fish in Devon.
We sell home cooked
ham, turkey and beef in our new delicatessen counter as well as salamis
and chorizo, Bath Chaps, Chitterling and home made faggots. |
